07:12 AM ET 07.17 | Center Marcus Camby, nearing both the 1,000-game milestone and his 40th birthday, still has more basketball in him, and preferably not for a rebuild. The Toronto Raptors are expected to negotiate a buyout with [Camby] of the final two years, $7.5 million of his contract, a league source told Yahoo! Sports. The Raptors acquired Camby in the recent trade that sent forward-center Andrea Bargnani to the New York Knicks. Camby said after the trade was agreed upon that he would prefer to play for a title-contending team. Camby, 38, played sparingly for the Knicks last season. The Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls are expected to have interest in Camby if he clears waivers and becomes a free agent, a league source said.

At 40?After another injury filled season?I mean....I think he'll end up playing more games than odenBut that's not saying much

He'd be good insurance for the Rockets and a calming presence in the locker room in Houston. Maybe can be the bridge between Dwight and Asik who clearly is upset and doesn't want to be the back up.

Nah! He is done. It will be a waste bringing in this old man. He has no offense and the 2 guys you mentioned are already good/great on defense.

The rockets have the young Asik to back up Howard, they ain't letting him go.
The rockets are good with centers.
I say Camby should go to the clippers.

Not all players are signed to play on the court. Some are signed for the veterans minimum to provide a positive presence.

If Jason Kidd couldn't keep going at 40, I don't think anyone can. Look back at how hard it was for Parish when he came back at that age....
