02:27 PM ET 07.17 | While there are some talented players still remaining in the NBA's free agent pool, the vast majority have already been signed and the Detroit Pistons say they no longer are looking toward free agency to improve their roster. Rather, Pistons general manager Joe Dumars says the team will begin trade talks but wants to make one thing clear to rival executives: Andre Drummond is not available. The ninth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft has been deemed "untouchable" by Dumars after a solid rookie season that was cut short due to injury.

I believe Joe Dumars on this on. The last player he said was "untouchable" was Rodney Stuckey. And Joe never traded him.

Even if Drummond was to be made available, who exactly are the Pistons targeting to get back? Joe is absolutely clueless.

Drummond should be the only untouchable on the team....Monroe can be had for the right player.

It's been 10 years since the Darko debacle. Dumars won't make that mistake again.

This is the smartest thing the Pistons could say. Why leverage your future on a quick fix that generally never pays off. Bring him along slow and let he and Monroe be the foundation for a strong future. Peyton Siva was a steal in this year's Draft, and if he learns a 3rd of what Mr. Big Shot knows they are going to be a handful as a team going forward. Not to mention Josh Smith hopefully living up to his potential now that he's no longer in Atlanta. Only time will tell, but I give them an A+.
