07:05 AM ET 07.18 | The Dwight Howard experiment didn't work out in Los Angeles, so what's next on the horizon? [The Lakers] are looking at adding LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony -- among others in a star-studded 2014 free-agent class -- front-office sources have told ESPN. Opinions are split on whether the Lakers can actually land James or Anthony, with one source calling it "realistic" and another saying it was "far-fetched at this point." Nonetheless, the Lakers have made it clear they are positioning themselves for a run at one and perhaps even two of the superstars who could become free agents in 2014 by refusing to commit to any contract past this upcoming season, multiple sources have said.

#WhoCares

These players are going to RUIN the NBA (moreso than the fixed games can be now) by "bringing their talents" from City to City to prove a point... Lebron needs to rupture an achilles or something.

LA Calves?

I do think its lame that these guys are all teaming up every few years to make these super teams. At this point, I would ask Stern or incoming commish Adam Silver why there are 30 teams in the league at this point?

The NBA was always a top-heavy league to begin with, but if you are going to have the superstars all migrate to a select few teams in big markets, why not just contract to 15-20 teams at this point? Atleast in the 1960's when the Celtics, Sixers and Lakers ruled the NBA, there were only 12 teams.

Spot on brother...

LA will land Carmelo though. I can see him going to Lakerland for sure...especially after this season when the Heat, Nets, Bulls and Pacers ALL will be better.

Lebron has ZERO reasons to leave.

The haters will point to Wade's knee...which actually makes my argument better.

Miami has won back to back titles with a bad knee of Wade...imagine if the kid can stay healthy and how scary that is?
