Sumlin delights when asked about Alabama

07:13 AM ET 07.19 | The countdown to Sept. 14 at Kyle Field is on. Kevin Sumlin didn't say much and he didn't need to. He let last season's result do the talking. During a Dallas A&M Club event Thursday night at Gilley's Dallas, the Texas A&M coach took questions from the crowd to cap the evening. The question that received the shortest response was one about the Alabama football team hanging Texas A&M signs in their weight room, a little extra motivation from last year's 29-24 Aggies victory in Tuscaloosa. When Sumlin was asked what he's been doing to motivate his players for this season's game against Alabama, Sumlin replied: "Same thing we did last year. That seemed to work." The room went crazy and Sumlin smiled.

Nevermind this, did Manziel send out any tweets?

Early season game this year could lead to more hype than substance.

Hope Va Tech game prepares the gump aggies and Rice and Sam Houston do the same for the agnuts.

Both were more seasoned last year when they met.

For the SEC haters out there, best to start wearing your noise-cancelling headphones at LEAST 2 weeks prior to this game, and avoid all sports media outlets as well. If you don't, your head is liable to explode from the hype being jammed into it.

He's doing the samething I would do. Of course it's a proud accomplishment. He beat Alabama at home. He did what no other team could do last year.

We got complacent, but no one can ever take away the fact that TAMU beat us pretty good. 5 point win, but they jumped on us early and weathered the comeback storm.

They came almost out of nowhere last year, with many people picking Missouri before the season to have a better year than TAMU. Expectations are a lot higher. Can complacency hit TAMU? We'll see.

All I know is that this current A&M squad owes most of its success last year to a kid with some severe maturity issues, and which are probably only going to get worse now that he's firmly in the national spotlight.

Nope...the agnuts are in the SEC now so all is well.

Slow learners. Still playing their version of video game football ala the Big 12.

The masses will indoctrinate them in time and get them back to big boy football.

I can't decide which team I'll root for, but this is a much-watch game (dove season be dam*ed)!

From an analytical standpoint I'm not sure if 'Bama has the linebacker speed to keep up with A&M's air raid, and I'm not sure if A&M has the horses to stop 'Bama's running game. It could be a high-scoring affair.

JK, good comment!!!! I don't think complacency will hit TAMU on 9-14, as they know how dangerous Bama can be, also this is a "VERY" big game, so early in the season.
