08:48 AM ET 07.20 | Even in the wake of a no-hitter, Tim Lincecum trade rumors circulated. On Thursday, general manager Brian Sabean tried to put them to rest by saying he expects Lincecum will remain a Giant the rest of the season. Sabean addressed the Lincecum trade speculation on his show on KNBR. "I expect Timmy to be in a Giant uniform," Sabean said. "I find it hard to believe he'll pitch elsewhere this year. ... We need him to get back in this thing."

Meaning that they haven't received an offer they can't refuse.

Just as the words came out of his mouth, he was thinking of what he's worth!!!

Wouldn't the Giants get a first round pick as compensation for Lincecum if he signed elsewhere?

They would have to give him a qualifying offer first.

This would seem to make the most sense.

And they will. I think the Giants value the pick.

Do they value it for around $14 million, one year guaranteed to Tim? Cause that is what that offer will cost them if he decides to stay one more year-$14 million....( $13+ last year for that offer, assume it will go up).

He would get the last laugh if they do.

Not if he accepts their $14 million offer. they get timmy back for one more year at that price.
