06:14 PM ET 07.20 | According to reports, the Detroit Tigers are hoping to acquire 31-year-old Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez. Rodriguez or K-Rod, could very well end up in Detroit, but the Tigers will more than likely have to pay a heft price for the right-handed pitcher. This season he has an excellent 1.14 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 26/8 K/BB in 23 and 2/3 innings.

is Milwaukee shopping K-Rod? or is this just a wish list. The brewers went to k-rod because they went to using Henderson as an eighth inning set up man Axford was doing better in 7th. If K-rod goes Henderson goes to closer again Axford in 8th will be interesting who Detroit offers in trade that brewers would agree with

I think, not sure, he becomes a free agent after this year. Makes sense to move him for players. They got him for nothing and no likely to offer him the $13 + million it would take to keep him off the FA market next year.

The Tigers can rent him for the rest of the season for a mid-range prospect.

They went to K-Rod to showcase him in the closer role and drum up some trade interest for him.

He's definitely not a part of the long term plan in Milwaukee.
