06:27 PM ET 07.20 | The New Orleans Saints have announced that rookie wide receiver Kenny Stills and linebackers Rufus Johnson and Eric Martin have been added to the active/non-football injury list. In case you are wondering, the active/non-football injury list is the same as the active/physically unable to perform list. Players can be activated from the list at any time during camp. Stills is unlikely to see a significant amount of snaps this season but is in the Saints' long-term plans. As for Johnson and Martin, both linebackers should get some playing time on special teams if they are able to make the roster.

Monsoon season here too, and this year it's been on steroids.

Not feeling it. I'm not used to the constant rain and/or humidity.

It's brutal. Just awful.

I think it is used more and more to protect a guy, not play him but not lose him if you put him on your practice squad. You are not willing to put him on your roster, but if you practice squad him another team can take him from you for nothing.

They are trying to warehouse him. He came out early, was predicted to go in the third round, they got him in the fifth. Talented but said to not be quite ready yet. You will see this maneuver more and more

Sounds like the NFL is trying to create their own minor league.

The games they play. don't know why they didn't just designate a squad of say three guys you can keep for a year, pay, and not lose to another team? In addition to a practice squad. Or just change the practice squad rules.

At least your explanation made some sense, 50.

Not sure, but if yo are on that list you do not count as the 90 man limit you can take to camp. If so, that buys you time to check out some guys without releasing anybody.

Payton involved? then you know it is borderline. He has to always feel like the smartest guy in the room. Just his way.
