10:52 AM ET 07.21 | University of Tennessee point guard Trae Golden will be transferring to Georgia Tech's basketball team. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Golden starred at McEachern High School, and was a two-year starter with the Volunteers. He has one year of eligibility remaining, and has applied for an NCAA waiver to play this season because this father is "severely ill," according to CBS Sports. Last season at Tennessee, Golden averaged 12.1 points and 3. 9 assists. Golden's departure from Tennessee in May remains confusing. The Knoxville News Sentinel reported that Golden transfer was "based on academics and a result of "repeated plagiarism" -- which Golden's father later said was --totally inaccurate.
