12:31 PM ET 07.22 | Sources told The Dispatch this morning that Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer has dismissed No.1 running back Carlos Hyde, who was named as a person of interest in a weekend assault against a female in a Downtown bar, and that he is still looking into a situation regarding starting cornerback Bradley Roby in Bloomington, Ind., over the weekend. According to Monroe County court records, Roby was arrested early yesterday morning in Bloomington and is facing preliminary charges of battery resulting in bodily injury. Sources told The Dispatch he was asked to leave a bar after a disturbance, refused, and was subdued by bouncers at the bar before being taken into custody.

If this is true, the Buckeyes suddenly become a top 20 team rather than a top 5. #1 rb and arguably the #1 defensive player and 1st rd pick.

Somehow, I just knew the Bucks weren't going to get through this summer without some garbage happening. Total knuckleheads.

He can run but Hyde can't hide.

Hyde should've been Dr. Jekyll this summer and saved Mr. Hyde for the gridiron. BUT, NOOOOOO!

Hyde and Roby both projected starters on tOSU offense and defense respectively. My Lord, why can't these doofuses stay out of the bars???

July 22, 2013  12:53 PM ET

Do you think Urb will be like B.Kelly and realize they need these two to win so he'll let them back on team, the night before the first game?

And kudos to Urbie for canning Hyde's sorry butt.

If this was a SEC team, these guys would have gone from practice squad to starting line up for the arrests.

America needed the Soviet Union, Rocky needed Apollo, Mich needs OSU. That something to make you better, to hate yet respect. Thats why college football is so much fun, at least for me.
