07:04 AM ET 07.23 | When training camp dawns Friday in Green Bay, quarterback Aaron Rodgers may be talking about baseball. [Rodgers and Ryan Braun] supported each other through the Packers' Super Bowl run in 2011 and the Brewers playoff run later that year. They've shot commercials together. They've done interviews together. They've shot a magazine cover together. Furthermore Rodgers staunchly defended his friend Braun on Twitter in February of 2012: @toddsutton: @AaronRodgers12 you really believe he didn't you PED's???? #delusional ... @AaronRodgers12: @toddsutton ya I'd put my salary next year on it. #ponyup #exonerated ... Rodgers also tweeted this: @AaronRodgers12: MLB and cable sports tried to sully the reputation of an innocent man. Picked the wrong guy to mess with. Truth will set u free #exonerated"

"ABOUT FACE!!!"

I knew Braun was a fraud... Knew it!

Oh... And Rodgers was an idiot for backing this guy without knowing what was going on, in an entirely different sport.

July 23, 2013  07:19 AM ET

Rodgers may not support him, but Tony Mandrich will back him.

"Will Rodgers continue defending Braun?"

Good question but since he's out a years salary I would say that the foot has been inserted directly in his mouth...move along here there's nothing to see

Or maybe he did know what was going on? I'm not insinuating that he was on PED's himself but one has to question all athletes due to the masses that have tested positive before him.

Their mentality is one of entitlement and the feeling that they are smarter than anyone else. The same goes for the doctors that are running these labs like Biogenesis! They create these PED's that can't be tested (always one step ahead) and when one gets caught they move onto the next supplement.

I think its a pretty good bet to say that a large amount of NFL (and other sports) athletes are on some type of PED. And its also a good bet to say that there are a bunch of stars that are on that list, similar to baseball!

Pony up Rodgers and pay the man!

Spot on.

Rodgers seems like a smart guy, but you know he wishes he could get this one back.

All Braun, no brains

It was my first time hearing a high profile athlete defend another, across sports.

I was thinking the same thing last night. He only apologized after being backed into a corner with no way out. What a standup professional for kids to emulate.

He needs to speak up now, on how he cheated. Fans deserve more information than the bland "I'm sorry" speech.

He is the Lance Armstrong of baseball. I think he even got the UPS guy fired behind his first failed test.

If that's true, the UPS guy should take legal action.

50% (+/- 48.5% depending on who is giving the tests)
