07:17 AM ET 07.23 | For a guy who can naturally deke his way out of a uncomfortable spot, David Perron took a question about his being misunderstood during his six seasons in St. Louis head-on. "I believe I was a lot actually," Perron said after learning 13 days ago that he had been sent to Edmonton. ... Asked during his first Blues'development camp what he planned to work on upon returning to juniors, Perron indicated that he would make the NHL roster. "I think that's why some people took me as a cocky type of person," he said. ... A good player who is misunderstood? "Yeah, I think he was," [Keith Tkachuk] said. "We were all at fault at times, but in the end, he's a better player and a better person for what he's learned for the last five or six years. I sent him a text after the trade and I wished him all the best."

I like Perron a lot. Probably my biggest complaint about him is his inconsistency. He scores 8 points in 3 games, then is invisible for two weeks and you wonder if he was even on the ice. Saw that pattern a lot in St. Louis.

Wait till you get a load of Magnus Paajarvi. You'll be looking for a new definition of "inconsistent."
