07:18 AM ET 07.23 | Word broke coming out of the weekend that veteran Jaromir Jagr had found a new NHL home. [And]although president and general manager Lou Lamoriello was not willing to confirm or deny, what he was willing to admit was their need for roster improvement. "Nothing is official," Lamoriello told The Post on Monday concerning Jagr's signing, which was reported by ESPN as a one-year deal. "At this point, it's all rumors." Since the "retirement" of Illya Kovalchuk, the team has found itself staring a hole too large to fill by one person. Kovalchuk was the team???s best player, staying on the ice longer than any other forward in the NHL over the past three seasons. ... If Jagr does sign, he can at least fill the void left a right wing left by Kovalchuk. "We will continue to add and subtract players," Lamoriello said, "to try and get better."

Um....yeah I don't think Jagr's going to do that

Let's get Brunner under contract before working on this deal with Wolverine!

You really think you're going to get something special in Brunner? Not. What you'll get is an overpaid, streaky 27 year old who doesn't have the jam to play a full season but thinks he's worth Pavel Datsyuk bucks.

.... a lot of it on the seat of his pants. ;-)

I don't see what Lou has to subtract at this point .... unless he's planning on trading Schneider to the Oilers for Hemsky and a couple of prospect or picks.

Something something Matt Cooke.

Matt Cooke doesn't fight, Evander Kane put an end to that. Since then Cooke limits himself to throwing elbows and wielding skate blades like machetes.

He's gone Wild.

I don't think he realizes it yet but .... somebody should've told him he'll be in the same Division with Evander Kane. Karma is a beautiful thing! :-)

Just thinking about it. I wonder if Lou's going through some buyer's remorse?

Wonder what's going on with that. He did get 12 goals in a half season, so you have to think a 20+ goals a season. More than JJ I bet.
