11:24 AM ET 07.23 | The San Francisco 49ers drafted running back Marcus Lattimore out of South Carolina. Lattimore suffered a gruesome knee injury last season playing against Tennessee in October. He was considered to be a first round draft pick before the injury. While he is having an Adrian Peterson-like recovery, the team is being cautious with Lattimore, holding him out of practice. San Francisco even put Lattimore on the physically unable to perform list. That will hold him out until at least the season's sixth week. While the team is being cautious, Lattimore believes that he is able to play immediately.

Just like Gronk, he's on the active PUP list for training camp, not on the reserve PUP list for the regular season.

That injury was brutal.

I cringe every time I see this guy. Kinda the same way Willis Mcgahee made me feel. But, Mcgahee has played nine seasons and rushed for over 8,000 yards. It could happen.

Lattimore will be a welcome addition mid to late season to get his Niner teammates the extra nitro to burn through the playoffs and another Super Bowl run with a happy ending this time.
