11:30 AM ET 07.23 | As you might or might not now, the Los Angeles Lakers lost in the Dwight Howard sweepstakes this summer and will head into next summer with quite a lot of cap space. Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James are two players that the Lakers will be trying to sign in 2014, but another name that has been brought up is Paul George, who will be a restricted free agent next summer. While George is flattered by the interest, he has no intention of leaving the Indiana Pacers right now.

He'll fizzle next year anyway.

Losing the Dwight Howard sweepstakes now will only give the Lakers room to improve in several key areas with younger talent.

He will be Rudy Gay if the Pacers sign him to a max contract. Well a little better than Gay but not worth max money.

On paper it looks as if the family has been making bonehead decisions since his Lordship passed away. But now I think they are genius. D'Antoni is great transition coach in the sense that when y're rebuilding with very low expectations he's the man to keep the team entertaining.

So it's only natural that players that truly want to win like Howard and George stay clear off the mess. You look at the Lakers roster and you realize it's made up of a bunch of players that are way past their glory days... Nash, Kobe, Gasol... they all have the name to sell tickets but not the body to win games.

This proves Paul George is no faker. He's just being sincere.

If y're a Lipton employee you don't take coffee breaks. In the same way if you want to win an NBA championship you don't play in D'Antoni's system. It's that simple!

Los Angeles Is Not For Everyone, Bro.

Money talks! Unless your Howard and you dislike playing with Kobe and for Mike D'Antonio.

Paul George is legit. Why would he leave a team on the rise for one in the process of rebuilding. He'll make his money anywhere. He's smart to stay put.
