07:11 AM ET 07.24 | Clearly, Joe Blanton has struggled, and his spot in the rotation is now murky because of it. The Angels may not have a lot of options to replace [Blanton] in the starting rotation, but that does not mean they aren't considering making a change. "We're working on a couple things now," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "We're going to see where we are and we'll have a decision." After lasting just 3 2/3 innings during Monday's loss to the Twins, Blanton -- in the first year of a two-year $15 million deal -- has a 2-13 record and a 5.66 ERA. ... Simply put, Scioscia said "a lot of factors," will go into the decision of whether Blanton starts Saturday in Oakland, which would be the next time his turn comes up. If the Angels do decide to remove Blanton from the rotation, Billy Buckner would likely get the start.

in the old days this guy would be on the waiver wire, aside from his first couple of years with the A's he's been pretty much a # 4 or 5 type of guy with a .500 w-l record. The Angels drastically overpaid as they have done lately with all of their signings

Agreed...

What made anyone (Fans, Front Office, Media) out there think Blanton was All of a Sudden become a Decent pitcher?

The last time he had more IP's than Hits allowed was '08 - and he didn't even pitch a full season.

I don't think Dipoto will be back next season, though a lot of the blame falls on the owners shoulders.
