Canucks GM, Luongo bury hatchet

07:23 AM ET 07.24 | And perhaps now, the awkwardness will begin to disappear. Vancouver GM Mike Gillis spoke at the Canucks Summer Summit, a town hall Q&A with season ticket holders, and talked about how his meeting with Roberto Luongo went. Turns out things are going just fine. "Roberto is great," Gillis said with a smile. ... Gillis says one thing they could've worked better on with Luongo was his emotions. He said Luongo often felt guarded and the way he conducts himself on Twitter shows there's a funny, approachable guy. "We all could've worked harder at helping him but he's really enthused about the next steps ??? We're pleased he's going to be our No. 1 goalie." All right, but seriously: How does he feel about moving on with Luongo after two summers of not trading him?

Who knew you could make judgments based on how "he conducts himself on Twitter". A happy tweeter makes a good goalie I guess.

I'm guessing Lu is planning on playing this season without a blocker. Just for fun!

maybe he'll try something different and play with his eyes open?

It will indeed Nardo. I don't want to say that Vancouver's a train wreak but their new catch phrase is "All Aboard".

Well you seem to be stuck with him, you might as well play nice.

Hank is pleased he doesn't have to find somebody to beach ball another goalie photo.

And before it's over I'm sure Torts foot will be stuck with him if he doesn't play well.

I agree...one 4-5 game rough stretch, and it WILL be a rough stretch to get Torts' foot out! Three fingers aren't going to cut it

Still no comment from Lou though. Hmmm....

I think he's going through a twelve step program to overcome his buyer's remorse.

Mike offered him 25 lbs of proscuitto , and a 45 lb bucket of dippity doo hair slick, all is good between em now.

Or maybe someone can explain to him that the object of the game is to let in less goals than the opponent.
