07:00 AM ET 07.25 | Not long after being suspended for violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy, Browns second-year wide receiver Josh Gordon finds himself on thin ice. Speaking to the media Monday, Gordon said he failed the drug test after taking prescription cough medicine that contained codeine. He said it was not a case of "recreational use." ... Browns CEO Joe Banner said Wednesday that new coach Rob Chudzinski has told Gordon where he stands. "He spent a fair amount of time talking to Chud, and he's got to do some work and he understands he's going to be held accountable, and he gets the rope that's left isn't long," Banner said of Gordon. "In working with the coaches they need to see that commitment, that work ethic. Obviously, off the field he needs to make good choices."

I'd be smoking the chronic if I had to play for the Browns.

Guys... Remember when we used to have those weird brown threads no one cared about, every day ?

Yeah, me neither.

Browns? Meh! The owner is going to jail!

SIX failed drug tests in college! And now the pro test. This guy has a serious cough medicine problem. Maybe he should see a specialist not name Guido.

You mean, like, skid marks?

The Browns have been getting a lot of love on FN lately. What's up with that?

Thanks for the laugh! I damn near spit out my coffee on my pc.

But you might be on to something? How funny would that be if they did start punishing players like this for breaking the law. Ex: a player gets a DUI and is forced to assigned a few public bathrooms at the stadium that he must clean after every home game. This along with a fine would be much more harsh than what they are getting now, it would involve money and humility. Something most of these stars haven't suffered in years!

Any team can have its players carted off to jail. When it happens to the owner, that's really stepping it up a notch.
