07:09 AM ET 07.25 | David DeJesus is back -- but for how long? [Dale Sveum] inserted DeJesus back in the lead-off spot, moving Junior Lake down to No. 2 in the order. DeJesus went 2-for-6 with two runs scored, while Lake was 2-for-5 with an RBI. DeJesus is returning just in time to be showcased for the trade deadline, but he said he doesn't think he's going anywhere. President Theo Epstein said DeJesus is the kind of player they want in the system, but would make no guarantees. "Does that make him untouchable?" Epstein said. "No, no one is untouchable, but we'll sit and weigh out the options as to what's best for the Cubs. Just because you may listen on somebody doesn't mean you don't appreciate everything he brings to the organization."

The Chicago media is already comparing Lake's fast start to Puig's. I suppose they have to cling on to some flicker of hope.

Well of course. He's been starting out hot, and he's already been practicing to ignore his superiors.

DeJesus middling talent makes him perfect for this team. He's not going anywhere

Lake is nothing but a flash in the pan.

Entirely too premature to make that claim.
