07:06 AM ET 07.26 | Got Mo? The Heat is among teams that has shown some interest in free agent point guard Mo Williams. And Williams is said to have interest in Miami if he doesn't get an offer higher than the minimum. ... Some Heat officials oppose offering Greg Oden anything more than the minimum because of his history of knee problems, though some teams could offer more. The question is whether Pat Riley can be persuaded by Oden's camp, in the next several days, to dip into his $3.2 million mid-level exception. ... The Heat will get two early looks at arguably the most improved team in the Eastern Conference. The Nets announced Thursday that they will play two preseason games against the Heat: Oct. 17 in Brooklyn and Oct. 25 in Miami. The Heat has not announced the remainder of its preseason schedule.

Man this Oden "sweepstakes" has been going on for to long for a guy that has missed 4 years and likely only play 20 games.

Mo would be nice for the minimum. Heat should go after Thabeet for defensive reason. 7'3" is a nice filler in the middle.

Don't do it riles. You only have so much $ to spend, you are already back to back champs....Why take a huge risk?

the first one didn't count...shortened seasons should not be considered "champs"

in that case the Spurs' title in the 1998???99 NBA season does not count, and Duncan is still 2 rings away from Kobe

Exactly. That's like saying the Redskins '87 SB title doesn't count because of a strike shortened season. Just crazy talk.

so you think that a team that only has to win half as many games to get the ring should be held to the same standards as one...that's the real crazy talk

In the NBA the regular season just separates the wheat from the chaff and sets up Playoff matches.

The Playoffs are still the same amount of games.

Honestly I think they should make a serious play on Gary Neal instead of Mo Williams.

First Arroyo was considered "nice" he sucked, then Bibby was a "steal" signing and he choked in the finals, now Mo Williams is being eyed and considered nice?
The best chance to get Mo was when he was a free agent before he re upped with the bucks, since Bron's departure from Cleveland Mo has done nothing, now don't get me wrong reuniting the two and the chemistry factor thing may be there but with two young athletic point guards that play defense and are improved shooters I see no need for Mo Williams.
Let's read between the lines, the heat amnestied Miller, shouldn't the goal be to:
A. sign Oden
B. replace Miller with a younger athletic wing that can shoot, and play an all around game

I mean the heat made it to the quarter final summer league yes?
Didn't Ennis look intriguing?
D.J Kennedy?

yup.
crybabies who hate.

Anyway, I don't know why the Heat would want to add Mo when they already have Cole and Chalmers. Oden is a gamble, but he's a gamble that makes sense and offers a high ceiling at an area of need for the team.
