07:09 AM ET 07.26 | Hold off on that Jesse Crain trade speculation. The Chicago White Sox's attempts to trade [Crain] suffered a blow Thursday after their All-Star reliever said his right shoulder didn't feel better after playing catch and likely will need rest. "I'd rather be throwing in the pen and wasn't up to it today," Crain said after playing catch from about 100 feet. "So it's still a process, day by day. Hopefully it starts to feel better." Crain hasn't pitched in a game since June 29, and several teams in search of a reliever were hoping to watch him pitch as soon as Sunday, three days before Wednesday's non-waiver trading deadline. Even if Crain returns by early August, the Sox's trade options will be limited to the team that places a waiver claim on him unless Crain clears waivers.
