09:18 AM ET 07.27 | Don't expect to see Manny being Manny in the major leagues anytime soon. Despite an injury that could end DH Lance Berkman's career and the potential Biogenesis-related suspension of right fielder Nelson Cruz, the Texas Rangers do not plan on summoning Manny Ramirez from Triple-A anytime soon, major league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Over 16 games, Ramirez has hit .250 with an on-base percentage barely over .300 and three home runs in 60 at-bats. More important than the numbers are the quality of the plate appearances, and talent evaluators who have seen Ramirez are not filing reports that indicate he's anywhere close to resembling what he was before two performance-enhancing-drug-related suspensions helped jettison him from the game: one of the best right-handed hitters in major league history. "This isn't Manny Ramirez," said one scout who recently saw Ramirez. "This is a 41-year-old still trying to play baseball and not doing it very well."

QUOTE(#4):

Saw Manny in Memphis the other night...he looked pretty good then. Two at-bats against Cardinals' phenom Michael Wacha, he hit the ball hard both times. That said, Manny hasn't been Manny since probably 2008, has he?

Get some dry rub ribs after the game??

Mmmmm! Good.

I never understood why the Rangers were willing to even have him in their system.

Manny went to Taiwan, found God, played some ball, was born again so he needed to get a new passport to get back in, and if the Rangers do not start hitting the ball better, will be coming to a ballpark near you. soon.

Why Texas even signed Manny at all is surprising. His past track record in Majors should have thrown up a red flag. Is record of playing hard if or when he wants to . Is record in minors is not that impressive there. There are 4 days left before trade deadline. Texas need to try pickup another outfielder. just in case.

Most likely just a case of Jet Lag. The shot you get in Asia may not have taken full effect yet. time zones and all.
