09:56 AM ET 07.28 | The New York Knicks and the Memphis Grizzlies are on the lookout for a backup point guard and according to a source close to the situation, both teams have inquired about the services of Delonte West. The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, says talks with those respective teams have ramped up recently, however they are termed as being "preliminary at this point" with no offers presented as of yet. Both teams shall remain in contact with West as they continue to survey the market. West, 30, is driven to prove that he will be a model citizen and believes himself to be the missing piece to a team on the cusp of winning an NBA title. New York and Memphis fits the ideal situation he's looking for in an organization, another source told CSNNW.com.

A very talented player but has too many issues. Going to NY seems like a bad idea but we are talking about the Knicks...

Lakers management thinks newly signed Wesley Johnson can develop into a Michael Cooper type defender.

With West, J.R. Smith, and Ron Artest, the Bricks next move should be to hire a therapist. Who's going to make sure Artest and West take their meds? Smells like trouble.

West would not be a bad pickup! He has so much to prove and really needs this gig for his only chance left at the NBA. His game is still good but off the court will be the problem...
