OSU's Miller: 'I know what I'm actually doing this year'

07:23 AM ET 07.29 | Look out, Big Ten. Running backs coach Stan Drayton, dropping a tantalizing morsel for OSU fans, said during the spring that the OSU offense operated at about 60 percent last season. Getting the basics out of the way should allow the Buckeyes to get right on the remaining 40 percent on Aug. 4. ... That particularly applies to [Braxton Miller], who a year ago at this time was just beginning to study for a test he knew he wasn't going to know all the answers to. "I feel a lot more confident than what I was last year," Miller said. ... "Knowing how I was last year, it just changes my mindset (now). It's like, 'Dang, I know what I'm actually doing this year.' And it can change up the whole offensive gameplan. The plays are in my mind, and I (won't) second-guess myself."

Last year when Meyer said Miller was the most dynamic player he had ever seen, I expressed doubt at that assessment. Clearly I was wrong. I hope that tOSU wasn't really running 60% of their offense last year. If that's true, they will be harder to stop this year, given Miller's additional experience. I'm glad we don't have to play them until we get to Indianapolis.

OSU's Miller: "I know what I'm actually doing this year."

<sigh> Wish Hyde and Roby could make the same claim right now.

Believe me, if there's a way to bring your high-level talent back to the team, Urb will find it, and employ it.

Is there a Fulmer Cup analogy for basketball?
UNC gotta be up there in the standings.

I really don't think there's any wiggle room for UFM in the Hyde case, GR. If the evidence plays out that El Guapo slapped that girl in the bar, then he's GOT to be dismissed from the team. If not, the media (and a lot of Buckeye fans as well) will be all over him for selling out his "zero-tolerance" policy on abuse of women. It's going to be a defining moment, IMO, for Meyer's tenure at tOSU.

With Roby...meh. Probably suspended for first four games of the season.

You mean till meaningful games come around? I think I will start calling the Urb, Brian Kelly.

...plus Nick Saban and a host of other CFB coaches doing exactly the same thing.

So how will Flounder handle the inevitable same scenario?

B.Miller first year he was under Luke Fickell and learned a new offense, last yr Urbie comes in and he's got to learn another new offense ....now he's in the 2nd yr of the same offense and things will begin to really click......if they lose Hyde I really don't think they miss a step with out him.

NCG - Ohio St. vs TBD
