Have the Sixers ruined Evan Turner?

07:11 AM ET 07.31 | Draft night made for interesting viewing for Philly hoop fans, who saw president and general manager Sam Hinkie ship out Jrue Holiday. [It] became apparent that Hinkie would completely remake the team and that no one, not even a 23-year-old All-Star, was untouchable. For a while, it felt inevitable that Evan Turner would be the next to go. ... There's an opinion within the Sixers' organization that Turner was done a disservice by Doug Collins, the way he coached, and his system. None of it was a good fit for Turner. But did Turner struggle at times because of his environment or his skill set? And if the Sixers keep Turner and he doesn't improve, won't that hurt his trade value? "His trade value could go down," one league insider admitted. "But that's hard to imagine."

Only his coach knows..wait they don't have one!

Nope....he ruined himself by not doing everything he could to improve his overall game.

His conditioning is his main problem. Dude needs to really lower his body fat percentage. He's not in great shape for the position he plays.

Yuup, Collins pushed him to be better and we saw some glimpse of how good ET could be. This kid could play point forward and be the facilitator...

He was the product of a week draft...#2 overall is the only reason this guy has any hyp around him...his game isnt all that good...most other drafts he would have been selected outside of the top 10...
and tooo boot he is a whack job,...

Good point on that... that was one year we didn't have much basketball talent in this country... what a shame.

Turner has room to improve his jumper but he is what I think he will become a less athletic version of Iggy with less defense. He improved his 3pt shot but he has to get a mid range game. He can run pg duties part time and can defend the 2 and 3. So he isn't a bad 2nd to 3rd option. Collins offensive plays were not good and were way too old school with his 3 man bob and weave. If coaches don't maximize your strengths then they can slow your development but it isn't all on coaching.

Turner will turn out to be a pretty good player. He is only 23 and has more talent that given credit for. He was a beast at OState. Give him some time to get his confidence back and be used for what he was good at . Scoring

Evan Turner is garbage. The Sixers didn't ruin him. He ruined himself with his subpar skills and big mouth

July 31, 2013  07:11 PM ET

I remember when he was coming out in the draft. There were people that were saying that Evan Turner was going to be like Brandon Roy. That didn't happen. But at least he has better knees then Brandon Roy.

his scouting report coming in was 'can't shoot' and 'not athletic'you CANNOT play sg in this league without 1 or BOTH of those. No one 'ruined' him.just like no one 'ruined' morrison or the dozens of other kids who are great college players, but not destined to be great NBA players.

All star bro
