07:14 AM ET 07.31 | The Pistons' offseason rolls on. [They] reportedly agreed to a sign-and-trade deal Tuesday, acquiring restricted free agent Brandon Jennings from the Milwaukee Bucks for Brandon Knight, Khris Middleton and Slava Kravtsov. Jennings agreed to a three-year, $24 million deal with the Pistons as part of the sign-and-trade, sources tell The Detroit News. Jennings and the Bucks apparently reached an impasse on contract talks, as he was seeking a deal in the $12 million per season range, but settled on taking a shorter deal with the Pistons worth $8 million annually. Jennings' deal is lower than draft mates Golden State's Stephen Curry, who signed a four-year, $44 million extension last October and Denver's Ty Lawson, who signed for $48 million over four years.

Aye that...

Anything to get outta Milwaukee.

Happy for the kid but I wonder if him and Josh Smith will but heads during the season? Good move by Detroit regardless.

You can't bank on the double nickel forever. You have to produce to get $12 per year and also be consistent or efficient. Stop blaming the world and start motivating yourself to get better and not for revenge factor...

He only left money on the table if someone was willing to pay him more than $8M / year. I'm not sure everyone was willing to do that.

Good move for my Pistons. Im hoping Billups and Cheeks can mentor this guy cause he has talent. Hopefully not being the number one option can bring his efficiency up. It is yet to be seen what this mix will be like but there is talent there and all the core pieces are young.

He'll have to play SG because Billups wants to only play PG this year.

I thought so too... and you're right. Couldn't have better mentors than those two guys.

The Bucks are never going to contend. I'm not a big Jennings fan, but if you ask me, the difference is worth it to get out of Milwaukee.

playoffs or bust for the pistons.
Am sure Billups can mentor this kid.

No Billups will come off the bench or be the 2. Heck thats if he can stay healthy.

I think it was a good move also.Knuckle-headedness aside, he's got talent. And you got him for nothing

Thats the best part. We got to keep those to expiring contracts of CV and Suckey. Still can make a move or have 16 mill come off the books for next off season. Good job by Joe keeping the teams options open.

How can you guys call this a 'good move"? Money wise, yes. But just imagine 2 highly uncoachable guys in Jennings and Smith being your "leaders". Jennings has never seen a bad shot, and Smith, in his mind is Ray Allen.

Total madness in Detroit.

Maybe You're Not That Good, Bro.

12million/per year he was dreaming. The talent and depth of the PG is too deep for Jennings to think he is worth 12 per. The Pistons have a mash up of talent maybe it works not sure but they did upgrade the position. Can Cheeks reign in Jennings and Smith ill advised shots is the question.
