07:09 AM ET 08.01 | Rookie wide receiver Quinton Patton is 0-fer-camp, having yet to catch a pass through the first week of San Francisco's full-squad practices. Patton has a cast on the middle finger of his left hand, an indication that the finger could be broken. Coach Jim Harbaugh said Patton "jammed" it. But Patton is not on the sideline, either. He is wearing a blue jersey, which signifies that he is off-limits for contact. And that includes catching passes. Patton is running routes during all 49ers drills; he's just not catching balls. "He's getting a lot of work in practice, aside from actually catching the football," 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Wednesday. ... Roman said the directions to the fourth-round draft pick are simple: "Stay away from it. Catch it with your eyes."

When the Jets heard he had this skill, they immediately thought he'd blend right in.

Sounds smart to me. Route running skills are almost as important as hands.

Rexy wants to give 3 first rounders for the guy.

I heard Rexy's wife is getting a Tramp Stamp that says.... "Stay away from it"

The Venus Demilo could run great routes, but wasn't the total package. Unfortunately.

QB should drill him right between the eyes. >>>>> Like she's doing me..>>>>

Too many rookie receivers already do this without being ordered

Good point, Wawa. He'd be a perfect match for a QB who can't throw.

Catching the ball is usually the easy part of being a WR . Knowing your assignment and getting open are what determine if the player will make it in the NFL.

Apparently second year 1st round draft choice AJ Jenkins problem is that he can't get open.

Lets see if one hit wonder Krapperstinky can even complete a pass this season.

Yep. Right now his legacy matches Vince Ferragamo with an apparent fashion fetish.

Otis put a vid of her in the next thread. Can't remember what the thread's about. The blood seems to have rushed out of my brain like it had somewhere to go.
