07:10 AM ET 08.01 | Jermichael Finley ... dull? Yes, the world might be treated to a much quieter [Finley] in 2013. Not that it's, um, by design or anything. "It just happened," Finley said. "I'm not trying to do it. It's not something on my mind every day. I'm just getting better every day and doing what I'm supposed to, do it the right way." This was one point of hesitation for the Packers when they decided to keep Finley at his $8.25 million salary last off-season. One source indicated Green Bay was "uncomfortable" with paying Finley his $3 million roster bonus in March. ... Now, in a contract year, Finley is toning it down. Wednesday might be a sign of what's to come. "He's not in the media every day, that's a good thing," said McCarthy, smiling. "That was a joke."

He's gonna be a beast this year if he stays healthy. Contract year too.

The Packers will be equally happy if he stays quiet, too. "Contract year" usually mean teams can enjoy a season of "best behavior".

I'm not sure I agree, but you're right, contract year so he'll try his hardest

What??? They just gave him that contract last February ( 2012). How can they "hesitate" about the second year of it? He is very very good, they pay him well. Sounds even to me.

What's with the talk. The only thing anyone cares about with Findley is catching the dam ball and running the right routes. Where do they guys think we want to here them speak and their philosophy.
I still say. until he proves me wrong, that his big hit rattled his cage and when he hears footsteps, he has the dropsies.

There's a reason Peter King calls him Jermichael Findrop. I'd hesitate, too.

He could be very, very good, but frequently he is not. He misses assignments a lot. He runs the wrong routes. He takes plays off. Aaron Rodgers has called him out a couple of times. There are times when he is great and dominates. Such a talent.

i don't doubt you, but they must have had no choice. that was one sweet two year contract they gave him.

True but if he doesn't step up to "elite" status this year he likely won't get a new contract with the Packers. He's getting paid as a top tier TE but he plays like a mid tier TE. Solid, sometimes excellent, but usually average.

They may eat that contract if he's that bad. Not the first team to do it.

The censored one of my posts with sepreh (spelled backwards).

It was brilliant and involved Eli Manning.
