07:12 AM ET 08.01 | Notice a trend? The Milwaukee Bucks now have a 21-year-old point guard, a 24-year-old starting center and a 22-year-old power forward. Not to mention an 18-year-old small forward, the youngest player selected in the June draft. ... If it smells like a rebuild, tastes like a rebuild and feels like a rebuild, that's what it must be. Bucks general manager John Hammond has left behind last year's team and started again this summer, with an eye toward the future. Four key free agents have departed - Monta Ellis, Brandon Jennings, J.J. Redick and Mike Dunleavy. And starting small forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute was traded to Sacramento. The last big step came Tuesday when point guard Jennings was traded to Detroit, sent on his way after a bizarre summer of restricted free agency.

With Jennings and Monta Ellis on the same team, jacking up all those shots, they should have been named the Milwaukee Bricks. Now those two players are gone - but they have to rebuild - brick by brick.Hehehe.

Smells like a 30 years and counting rebuild in Milwaukee.

Nothing new. The Bucks have been rebuilding since Kareem left. When is it going to be completed?

August 1, 2013  09:45 AM ET

Is rebuild the right word. Don't you have to have been previously built to have a rebuild. Or are they counting the Kareem/Big O days as the first build?

Question: If 1 mistake turns a 3 year plan into a 5 year plan, how many times have the Bucks screwed up?

Time To Quit Passing The Buck, Bro.

They are not making the playoffs not this year. That division is tough. Detroit is better on paper, Cleveland is better on paper, Bulls with Rose back, Indy with Rose back. That division I believe will be the toughest in basketball and definitely the best in the east. I think USN mean a lock for a lottery pick

Rose plays on 2 teams? I'll be glad if he even suits up for one!!!!

The southwest division is the toughest division next year and was always the toughest also. 4 of the 5 will make the playoffs. Spurs, Rockets, Grizz, and Mavs...

Too bad they can't get that atrocious Tobias Harris for J. J. Redick deal back. They essentially ended up trading a 20 year old forward who averaged 17.3 ppg and 8.5 rpg for a 2nd round draft pick. Perhaps the most boneheaded trade in the NBA last season.

It does smell like something all right.

Whiskey bottles, and brand new cars
Oak tree you're in my way
There's too much coke and too much smoke
Look what's going on inside you
Ooooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell
Ooooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you
Angel of darkness is upon you
Stuck a needle in your arm......

The Lakers had Dwight for 1 year and they didn't know how to use him. Now they're regretting of not getting him comfortable and they eventually lost him even after all the billboards. This is almost the same scenario as Tobias. They had him but they didn't make use of him.

That is a tough division too. Record wise the southwest might be better. I just see two ECF contenders in the same division, (Pacers, Bulls). Bucks bring down the division. Spurs 50+ wins as long as Duncan is healthy. Rockets/Grizz 46+ wins plus. Mavs around 43 wins. Cav's and Piston one will make the playoffs and a chance for both as well.

17.3ppg and 8.5rpg for 36mpg over 27 games.

Them's pretty good stats

But 45.5% shooting from the field.....not so great for a PF.

Still.....he only just turned 21.....so ya gotta figure that he has quite a bit of up side.

Thought the same thing (aside from '00 - '01).

Don't you have to first Build something, before you can start talking about Rebuilding?
