11:46 AM ET 08.01 | Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heat Miller was injured late last season and it looks like he is still a long way from a return to the field. Miller was placed on the physically-unable to perform list and, according to eye witness reports from the team's training camp, he will remain on the the list for a few more weeks at a minimum. Miller is aging and the health will be a major concern, so it is a bit puzzling that the team didn't attempt to pick up a player like Tyler Eifert, Zach Ertz or Gavin Escobar early in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Glad Cincy got Eifert,

As a lot of teams needed a good TE rookie.

Another reason is the Steelers have a lot of other places too fill, and expect most of the rookies too start from day one.

The only rookie with a chance to start day 1 is Bell. The other guys will probably be in the mix, spelling the vets if nothing else, but they're not going to be the starters.

Other than Heath, Pittsburgh's just fine.

Plax can do the short stuff over the middle. He's just happy to have a job on a contender.

Nah, they'd always give his spot back on the Yardies.

Aaron Hernandez.

No, Really,

I read his letter on TMZ this morning. Turns out he didn't do it. It's all a big understanding that will be cleared up soon.

So if Heeeeeeeeath is only gonna be on the PUP for the next few weeks which is the preseason games does that mean he'll be ready to start by the first reg season game???

You need these eye witnesses to be a little more specific I think!!!

These injuries take about a year to fully heal, realistically. He may be suited up to start Week 1, but he's not going to be 100 percent for a while. I'd rather they just put him on the bench until Oakland, let him shake the rust off a bit before we gotta do the Pats.
