07:06 AM ET 08.02 | For tight end Kellen Winslow, when he looks back on his time in Seattle, bitterness remains -- and he's motivated to prove that his NFL time won't end at 30. [Winslow] reported to the New York Jets' training camp with a bold ambition. "My goal is to have 100 catches," he said Thursday. "Will I catch 100? I don't know. It might be 20, but that's the goal." ... One year later, Winslow still believes he was mistreated by the Seahawks, who cut him at the end of the preseason after he refused to accept a pay cut. "They cut me over money. They put me in a bad situation," he said. "I can't even speak on it. It's just frustrating what happened. You just don't do a vet like that." Winslow's ire seemed to be directed at coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider.

Are you going to cry? They can treat you like that if you're not worth keeping. It's called reality.

Why didn't he just say "do you know who my dad is" and get it over with?

The apple fell so far away from the tree on this one, its not even funny.

Dude has only made the news during his career for negative things. Only in NY would this make news for this never was.

One night there's going to be fireball over New York and we'll find out the next day it was the entire Jets team self-combusting.

Someone buy this guy a mirror.

get over it and move on you weren't worth the money so they didn't pay you and at the end of a day it's still a business

August 2, 2013  09:07 AM ET

These athletes are a real morons. When the teams cut players because money is an issue or they're underperforming vs. what their contract dictates they be paid, they take it all personal, have hissy fits and say they were disrespected, but when they hold out for more money, it's "just business". What a bunch of two faced prima donna's.

He and Sanchez can have a whine and cheese party...

August 2, 2013  09:53 AM ET

But you can "do a team like that" by falling off a bike and missing a whole season? Cleveland should have cut you right then and there because you obviously don't get the concept of a team. Be a soldier bro, stop whining like a spoiled, arrogant player from " da U".

He's upset they cut him over money?

Right, because these players are so altruistic and all about honor and team, right?

I can appreciate the accuracy of this statement.

I still feel he can contribute in a big way to a perfect situation, but one has to keep coming back to the accuracy of this statement...
