07:16 AM ET 08.02 | The Knicks are in the market to add to their roster, but they don't have much to spend. Amid their search for a young big man who could provide interior scoring, rebounding and defense, the Knicks are having discussions with free agent Ivan Johnson, a player source told ESPNNewYork.com. ... Another big man the Knicks had "strong interest" in, according to a player source, was Kris Humphries -- if the Celtics carried out their potential plan to buy him out. Humphries was also interested in playing for the veteran's minimum in New York. But a source familiar with Humphries said a buyout is unlikely at this point, as the Celtics, who acquired Humphries in the Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry trade this summer, envision a key role for him next season.

Our dire need is a third string point guard so fishing for a forward does not make sense. But so long as Isaiah is not running the show I can trust something good will happen on the guard front as well.

The main question is if Woody can make best use of the talent. He clearly mismanaged it last season in both regular and post seasons.

What does it take to get Phil Jackson?

They are going to use shump at the backup point guard ....He played as a combo guard at GT, so it might work...they could run him and Hardaway jr , who is also very good defensivly, and you have a lockdown back court....the answer may already be on the roster

Shump is going to start at SG.

Shump could be the emergency PG.

Ivan Johnson would be a great addition... Really adds some much needed grit and toughness to the Knicks roster. I much prefer him over Hump-a-lump Humphries....

Is North East Better Than North West, Bro.

Would hate to lose Ivan from Atlanta. He's a heckof a playa for the money. Full time energy, great pickup for any team.

does dolan have a sister ?

Good question. I gotta check the family tree. Maybe there's a lost cousin somewhere.

Shump is still an injury question mark so I won't put that much responsibility on him. His shot selection, play making and overall game IQ are still suspect so that will not be a small gamble.

We need a third string point guard.

Hey, it's Kris Kardashian!

Is she prettier and younger then Jeannie? Maybe Dolan has a daughter under 30.

Whenever I see Kris Humphries stories I think of the Black Eyed Peas 'My Humps' song. I don't know why because I don't think he has man boobs...

QUOTE(#8):

He would not be a bad pick up...the guy can give you some boards and at least 6 hard fouls...the Knicks front court has proven injury prone...why not Mr Kardashaian...maybe if they get him, they can get Chloe to play back up center

I think you are lying about Chloe, you'd tap her quicker than a Royce Gracie opponent.
