Norm Chow fires Hawaii OC after five months

08:39 AM ET 08.03 | Hawaii coach Norm Chow says offensive coordinator Aaron Price has been dismissed from the football program. Chow announced the decision Friday at the start of fall practice, but did not give details or a reason for Price's departure. Chow says the decision was difficult, with unfortunate timing at the start of fall camp. Chow says "some issues have arisen" and the team is choosing to move forward without Price. Price had been with the Rainbow Warriors since February. He served as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. Team officials say Chow likely won't fill the position this year. Chow will oversee the positions and two graduate assistants will expand their roles with the quarterbacks and wide receivers.

Aaron, best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

"... Team officials say Chow likely won't fill the position this year."

Yeah it's pretty late in the game for that.

If Chow is this offensive guru that I've always thought him to be, then what the heck is he doing with someone else as an OC? He might as well have reserved that position for himself from the get-go.

Is this the same coach Price that failed at K State?

Because there is more to running the railroad than just tooing the whistle.

That's what turned it around for Gundy. Remember when he used to hide away designing the offensive sets when his D was on the field? Never saw a defensive play for his first year as head coach.

That was Ron Prince.

Coach Norm chow is at Hawaii now? Look out Trojans, Norm remembers you!

Ah yes Ron, a whole lot of big talk with little numbers in the end. Coach Snyder should be elected Governor of kansas, just saying.

This is not a good sign, Rainbow Warrior fans.

Me thinks a lot of guys could call plays with some of the players he's had.

Nope. This is Mike Price's son who ruined UTEPs offense as coordinator the last few years.

Looks like Norm Chow is trying to be Lane Kiffin. Typical, that he follow the mastermind's lead, and go with no OC. Now there will be no one to blame but himself when Lane Kiffin outwits, outlasts, and out(offensively)coach's Chow (again) in Hawaii on August 29 11pm EST (only on ESPN and ESPN radio). I'll also be live posting the play by play on the current Johnny Manziel thread on this very board.

Fans, make your plans now, kids get your parents permission, but do it now!

Norm remembers USC. Trojans remember Norm. But you don't remember that Norm started coaching Hawaii a year ago.

Lane Kiffin woke up the echoes of all my posts when he beat Norm Chow 49-10 last year in the vaunted Moseleum.

At least the scenery and climate will be nicer for this years beating. And with the privacy of a midnight eastern game, I suppose you won't see this one either. But atleast promise to watch kick-off to see what Lane's wearing for the game.

Both of them agree with you.

Chow needs to be pulling a rickshaw in china not coaching football?

Nifty. I haven't seen a racist comment against Asians in a while.
