08:40 AM ET 08.04 | With 13 guaranteed contracts and a looming $19 million tax bill, the Heat has told people it feels no urgency to make any other veteran pickups, though Mo Williams at the minimum cannot be ruled out. Some assuredly will lobby for a Heat roster spot, including guard DeShawn Stevenson, of all people. Stevenson, who once called LeBron James overrated, tweeted Saturday night: "Miami Heat Where I Wanna Go!!! LeBron Make It Happen." Stevenson was waived by Atlanta this week.

plenty of nemesis type players joined the guy on the better team for a chance at a title.
Finley joined the spurs where Bowen was, Artest joined Kobe(won a title), Barnes joined Kobe...
I actually would welcome Stevenson on the heat.
Another guy who doesn't back down and has your back in a scuffle.
Brings it come playoff time, and excels well when playing with superstars ala Arenas & Dirk...

Either Mo or Stevenson would be good pickups at minimal price. Much much better then the Oden signing LOL.

At this point, it's hard to see anyone challenging the Heat for the 3-peat.

Mo isn't needed.
The heat have two decent point guards that defend, Mo doesn't.
The heat have a point guard duo of young talent, Mo needs to stay away from Miami, he is no Billups.
Heat need more of a wing defender who can shoot, Stevenson brings that.
Mo can't stop his own shadow.

First one that came to my mind was Rodman making the ultimate defection.

Very true. Seeing Dennis Rodman playing next to Pippin and Jordan took sometime to get use to.

Also, Dennis Rodman joined Jordan and Pippen when he signed with the Bulls. No greater nemesis for Pippen than Rodman. And then they won three titles.

Wow. Another wing defender. These boys aren't playing with the rest of the NBA. It's a good move for them. Still doesn't make for the Miller mistake.

Anyone they can add to the wing to reduce the number of regular seasons games for Ray Ray and Dwade only helps them come playoff time, I still would prefer Miller tho.

He is correct wren he said lebron is overrated.

Totally agree. Our two point guards are fine. And lets be honest, when it gets down to it, the ball is gonna be in either Wade's or LeBron's hands anyway. I like Stevenson. Past is past.

With Oden if he give them something even if it's minimal and Stevenson, he can defend and hit shots he has 3or range

It's easy to spend someone else's $40M (Miller's luxury tax bill over the next 2 years.. not even counting his actual salary)
