07:21 AM ET 08.05 | It wouldn't be Alex Rodriguez if it weren't somehow just a little more dramatic. [Rodriguez] will be suspended through at least the 2014 season in an announcement Monday by Major League Baseball, but the New York Yankees third baseman plans to file an immediate appeal, enabling him to play Monday night against the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field, two people with direct knowledge of the plan told USA TODAY Sports. Rodriguez is one of about 10 major leaguers who will be suspended, but he is the only player that will be banned beyond this season. MLB officials informed Rodriguez's attorneys and the Major League Players Association of their decision to suspend the players, and told Rodriguez that he no longer is able to discuss a settlement.

It's PED-Day.

I'm going to the game tonight. Now I can look forward to something since White Sox baseball has been as exciting as crocheting recently.

You'll be the only one wearing his jersey shouting "You're the Man A-Rod, we still love you".

I hope he goes to arbitration and beyond. Only way to gt at the truth of any of it. Then they can do what they want with him. In a perfect world both he and Selig go down.

You should have a good time tonight.

A-Rod, wake up and smell what you've been dealing. Your playing days are done. The Yankees are going to save a butt load of money by not having to pay you and will use that money for your replacement. I will boo any team you happen to be on if anyone is stupid enough to sign you after your contract is up. You're an overpriced athlete and a drug user. No thanks!

This is the story that keeps on giving--ARoid, Selig, and the Yankees in a media cat fight! How good can it get?

Yes it is. Most likely I'll lose my fantasy baseball short stop for the season.

It doesn't get much better, I gotta agree!

To bad the Yankees do not just keep this pile of cat poop on the bench. This cheater has no rights to even be on the field with players that play by the rules.

And just who are those players that play by the rules? The guys about to get suspended never failed an MLB administered drug test. A cheater who does not get caught is not playing by the rules, he is just circumventing them.

Well said.

Too bad we couldn't put some Compound W on him everyday until we're totally rid if this wart.

Haha yes. I'm going to duct tape over my Peavy jersey and somehow fit that all in. It's doable.
