Playing Manziel may bite A&M

07:23 AM ET 08.07 | As the NCAA investigates Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M has a decision to make. [Kevin Sumlin] may be doing a disservice to his team's chances of success this fall if he does not prepare a backup quarterback who is capable of stepping in and leading the offense should Manziel be deemed ineligible. ... [There] are now real questions about Johnny Football's eligibility, so the Aggies must be prepared for the worst in this case. However, Sumlin maintained that Manziel will get as many reps as he would have received before Sunday night's news. And although new offensive coordinator Clarence McKinney said that tabbing a backup quarterback was part of the team's list of goals for preseason camp, as of now it doesn't appear that those other signal-callers will be getting some of Manziel's reps.

Welcome. We need a Pennsylvania guy on here with a sense of humor. The other one we have....

...I'll stop there.

Sumlin said something to this effect (read it on TexAgs):
- Joeckel is a good pocket passer
- Matt Davis can make plays with his feet
- Kenny Hill can do both.

They gonna burn Hill's redshirt?

Still doesn't add up to me that JFF would take $7,500 for signing stuff. He's got access to a whole lot more than that without having to fatigue his autograph signing hand. Maybe the family won't fund his "agent" and that was for him. Anyways.....

Rumors running around the oil patch aggies are that some shut up money is being gathered for certain merchandise brokers. However, that one was trumped by a break in the ranks that want to spend it on the Aubie lawyers. May be the same rumor and run it through the lawyers. Either way, the NCAA's got nuttin' if said brokers don't cooperate.

Nah, I bet he's okay with it...SLC has 'em scattered all over creation anyway so some of 'em got to go the sheep route. Besides, SLC could use some sheep pens among those fancy homes.

You have to get into a different mindset. JFF has been running with celebs that spend more in a month than his family's entire net worth. He's been hanging in private jets and rolling the Italian supercars. This is out-of-his-league rich.

Add the Entourage effect, and he needs this cash to keep up.

I thought his family was loaded enough to go after the NCAA in a legal battle. That takes real money.
