07:23 AM ET 08.09 | To boo, or not to boo? After being relentlessly booed in his first two games in Chicago -- cheered only when he got hit by a pitch -- A-Rod, without sarcasm, expressed his love of the fans of Windy City and how they've appreciated him over the years. But in discussing what kind of reaction he might get Friday night in his 2013 debut at the Stadium, he dropped the act. "I'm not sure," he said. ... What kind of reaction would he like to hear? "The same one you would like," he said earnestly to a reporter. "Same one." How Rodriguez will be treated "is up to the fans to decide," team president Randy Levine said Thursday after a formal announcement of the Yankee Stadium arrangement to host two outdoor hockey games in January. "We have great fans and we'll see what happens."

Yankee fans booed the great Maris and Mantle so what makes AROD special?

August 9, 2013  07:53 AM ET

Does the question really need any analysis?

Call up some Philly fans to bring some batteries to the game.

This must be a rhetorical question.

Of course he will be booed. It isn't 2009.

At the rate NY is sinking.......There may not be many fans there regardless

Yep. Just imagine after a few years of 90+ loss seasons -- there will be about two Yankee fans left.

Gotta blame Arod and Selig both for this mess.

A-Rod? I guess the thousands of other players who used PEDS get a pass.

Well, we now know the others in the latest mess were led down the path unknowingly by some guy who worked for a sports agency who just happened by with tickets and rides for games who they did not really know who just blurted out " Hey, I know a guy that can poke you in the aarrssee once and your game will get better." and they all said " Well, uh, OK, I guess."."
