09:09 AM ET 08.10 | Portland Trail Blazers GM Neil Olshey introduced new guard Mo Williams, signed as a free agent this week, during a press conference at the Rose Garden on Thursday. A transcript of that press conference will be up shortly. During the press conference, Olshey indicated that All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge was "excited" by Williams' signing. Earlier this summer, Olshey indicated that Aldridge was also "pleased" with the addition of Robin Lopez. Following the press conference, Olshey offered this answer to Craig Birnbach of KATU when asked where this summer's LaMarcus Aldridge trade rumors come from. Where do LaMarcus Aldridge trade rumors come from? "I think it comes from all you [media] -- everybody fighting to be first with inaccurate information. I can tell you, LaMarcus Aldridge, you guys have known him longer than I have. And if he had asked to be traded, he would have told people that he asked to be traded. He never asked to be traded.

He's got rising star sophmore in Lillard, good role players in Batum, Mathews,Lopez. Drafting of McCollum was huge for them.
A decent bench now with Mo,Dorell Wright,Leonard,Thomas Robinson,Harris...
Everybody is gonna talk about Houston,Lob City and the warriors upgrades, but mark my word the blazers are the dark horse of the west. This sleeper team will impress and get to the playoffs this upcoming season.

They have always looked good on paper from the past 10 years or so. Every year starts with pretty much the same anticipation, but it actually goes no where. I see no reason this season to be any different.

When Portland fails again this season, Aldridge will be shopped around. Depending on how they start out he could be trade bait around the all star game.

I expect them to make the playoffs I never said they make the WCF LOL
How the league is now its clear they need a third option.
Depending on how well Granger returns to form this season, I don't see Indy resigning him however.
PG24 aka Paul George is the man on the team now, the go two guy is Hibbert and the third guy is consistent David West...
Now if Granger is back to form a sign and trade being Granger for Batum makes sense.
Batum in Indy puts George back at the 2 guard, and let's face it nobody can guard him at that spot.
Batum is a good three point shooter, he is a solid defender and would fit right in.
With Portland they have another legit scoring vet in Granger...

I'm not so sure if Mo is a good pickup. Blazers have 2 young and promising PG in Lilliard and McCollum. Adding Mo may slow down their progress and we all know that Mo really wants to start real bad. Either Mo will be riding the pine or McCollum. Pick your poison...

McCollum is way better than Mo.
He is a raw version of Lillard, athletic, can shoot, score at will.
Just both must be better defenders.
He doesn't pass as much as Lillard.
Mo on the other hand....if he ain't hitting three's he's a liability.
Mo's best years are behind him.

Mo may play a lot at SG since they have enough PG's.

August 10, 2013  12:16 PM ET

20-25mpg off the bench.

August 10, 2013  12:17 PM ET

Mo's always been more of a combo guard, than a natural PG.

What's good, people? I'm standing in line, waiting my turn at the **** bank.

McCollum is also a combo guard but they also have Wes Matthews at SG. Mo hates coming off the bench that's why he was traded from the Clippers and he demanded to start for Utah or else he'll sign elsewhere. Mo is good but he has an attitude problem. He has that me first attitude instead of team first attitude. We'll see if he would be happy coming off the bench. McCollum and Lilliard need their playing time.

Last years team didn't look good on paper. Everyone in Portland knew once you looked past the starting five That was about it. Other seasons, the team was ripped apart by the injury bug. Portland overachieved last season. This team should be a 7th or 6th seeded playoff team.

If Granger is back to from he should be able to bring more back than Batum.

Batum is a nice player with a very specific skill set but Granger is potentially capable of being a team's best player, their number one option.
