Rams coach Jeff Fisher rips Bernie Kosar

09:46 AM ET 08.11 | Rams coach Jeff Fisher no longer has respect for former NFL quarterback Bernie Kosar. Kosar worked on the Browns' local broadcast of their preseason game against the Rams, and he made several derogatory comments about the team. Kosar described the Rams' receivers as "horrible," suggested that the receivers" parents should be "embarrassed," described Rams receivers coach Ray Sherman as "not doing very good" and made some odd rambling comments about how little he thinks of Rams backup quarterback Kellen Clemens. At his Saturday press conference, Fisher suggested that Kosar has personal problems. "Bernie's got his issues. They're well-documented," Fisher said. Fisher said he doubts Kosar has done the kind of research that Fisher believes an announcer should do before opining about a team. And he said that while he still respects the Browns, he doesn't think Kosar belongs in the Browns' broadcast booth.

Are You Giving Him The Horns, Bro?

Fisher is right. Listening to Bernie doing color is painful at the very minimum.

Fisher is the one with the problem here. He actually expects ex-players turned announcers to do research before they spout off their options as if they were proven facts. How dare he!?

Of course Fisher expects his options to be taken as Provence facts should he become an announcer after his coaching career is over! ;^D

Did you expect anything less from Kosar? He's looking for a Network Job, and will probably wind up like Tiki Barber!

What hurts is some of it is true about his receivers. Perhaps more than some. Bernie just lacks the ability to spin it. He may have did fisher a favor in all of this, he said what the coach could not.

Bernie is a homer. I remember some ten years back the Lions radio colorman was saying over the air "Man we just don't have the good receivers''

I'm sure some of what Bernie said about the Ram's recevers were true, but did he say anything about how crappy the Browns' receivers and team are???

Bernie said he is glad he doesnt know the Rec. coach cause he would be embarassed if he did. Its really funny coming from a guy whos daughter is a **** star.

why is p*o*r*n" stared out? Sorry adult film star.

It's pre-season for announcers, too. The guys doing the Pats game weren't paying attention to the game. It was like they were doing sports radio, way off topic. When they tried to comment on the play, they'd get the down and even the quarter wrong.

August 11, 2013  11:04 AM ET

Jeff's paying attention to the local broadcast team for the opposing team during a preseason game? Guess there are no other issues with the Rams to be worked out.

Was it a painful as watching him play? Kosar was slow slow he had to turn sideways under center to get a head start. Even then he couldn't get out of the way.
