07:31 AM ET 08.12 | Red Wings GM Ken Holland said he has spoken with forward Darren Helm, and the progress report is positive. Helm played in one regular-season game last season and missed all of the playoffs with a back injury. He skated at the Red Wings development camp in Traverse City last month. "Everything's good," Holland said. "He feels good. He's training. I know he trained very hard last week. He's in Detroit. He's very happy where he's at. He has no issues. Obviously, the challenge is physical play. I'm cautiously optimistic." Holland is hoping Helm will be able to come to training camp next month without any issues. ... "I'm sure early on we'll probably go light with him in preseason games. But in order to be able to play the first game of the year against Buffalo on Oct. 2."

This would be a big PLUS for the Wings if Helm shows no signs of that previous back issue. Love this guy's attitude and he can flat out play when he's healthy....staying that way for the season I hope

Oh crap/ Now we will be subjected to more "how will DET sign Cleary?" stories.

Hard to imagine that training camp is upon us already. I've hardly had time to get out of shape.

I've been going crazy without soccer. Chelsea's got England this season, though.

Summer without soccer and ... winter without hockey. Must be tough living in Toronto. :-)

I don't think so....as a fan, I want Liverpool, but realistically? It still looks like United's to lose...but much closer than last season

No worse than MTL fans. Instead of Lafleur, Richard (da_n this could be a long list), they now have PK Subban and.......well..........ummmmmmm

How sad is that?
