07:02 AM ET 08.14 | Oh, to be a fly on the wall when Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III and Donovan McNabb do finally chat. After some previous critical comments of Griffin, McNabb stated his desire to sit down and chat with last season's No. 2 overall pick. Griffin told GQ in a story published Tuesday, via ProFootballTalk, why he decided not take McNabb up on his offer for advice. "I don't think Donovan is an idiot by any means," Griffin said. "But right now, it's probably best we don't talk." McNabb later voiced his displeasure with those comments and the way the Redskins organization is handling the young quarterback. "I'm just trying to help him, but clearly the young generation think they have all the answers," McNabb said on NBC Sports Radio's Under Center with McNabb and Malone. ... "I honestly think that over there in Washington he's getting brainwashed."

Why on earth would any aspiring QB want input from Donavan McNabb. He was a lazy over-rated bum. Couldn't learn a playbook outside of Andy Reid letting him wing it. No work ethic. No locker-room leader. Just a bum. If McNabb really wants to help someone he should do the WORLD a favor and vanish.

"But right now, it's probably best we don't talk."

It's probably best McNabb doesn't talk to anyone, especially the media.

Right!? Now there's a reliable source for comments. What is it with former has-beens mouthing off about current players lately? Yesterday Travis Johnson mouthed off about Romo. At least I heard of McNabb, this other guy..NO!!

Rex Grossman and Ponder as a rookie took your job McNabb..... Took your job.

August 14, 2013  07:31 AM ET

Appears to be in need of media attention; sort of pathetic and sad.

"I don't think Donovan is an idiot by any means," Griffin said.

Parry... Thrust... Touch??!

How does Donovan McNabb rate an opinion at all... About anything?

It's a trend lately with former players.

RGIII just needs to ****! He is more annoying than Tebow nowadays. Does he have to let the world know that he just sneeze every time?

RG-III is just answering questions. He's not plastering his face all over late-night TV.

If you want this to stop, talk to the media.

August 14, 2013  08:13 AM ET

Riiight, answering questions huh? Just like yesterday when he called for a media session just to let everyone know that he and his coach doesn't have a lovers quarrel. Love the face on Shanahan though when he said he wasn't even aware what RGIII did and suggested he could have just approached him instead.

Not at all. I don't consider him annoying, and certainly nothing like McNabb, that dopey Travis Johnson and a slew of other ex-athletes that don't want to leave the spotlight, but should!

My point is that you don't see Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick or Andrew Luck meeting with the media at the drop of a hat! Why not divert the attention to the entire team instead? As a fan, would you rather hear from one person constantly or would you rather hear on what's going on with the team?

Fans in Philly are saving their voices to "BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" this bum in September when he has to walk the field.
