07:06 AM ET 08.14 | Without having coached a game in Boston, Brad Stevens is already picking up wins in and around Beantown. [Stevens] has pressed all the right buttons since taking over as Boston Celtics head coach in early July. He hit a home run at his introductory press conference, patched together a talented staff mixed with experience and familiarity, and visited Rajon Rondo at the point guard's camp to start building a relationship. ... Add one more solid move to Stevens' string of them: Kenny Anderson tweeted Tuesday that Stevens sent a letter to all former Celtics, and the lefty point guard seemed to appreciate the gesture. ... [If] Anderson's right and the coach actually sent a letter to all former Celtics, it's a classy move. Danny Ainge should probably fire Stevens now before the coach reveals any flaws.

I don't even know if I can fully comprehend that. All former Celtics? That's a lot of people no? And if he did that, what did he say to each of them? Was it a form letter? Because it seems to me if he sat down and wrote something substantive to each individual that is a monumental undertaking. And for what good reason?

Nothing wrong w/ what he did. As a professional, people should welcome what he did. Doing good things is better than doing something negative. And this is the summer time. All of these coaches and players have time on their hands.

Agreed. Plus Stevens is a Celtic now, and that requires a higher standard than normal teams.

I wish him good luck. I seriously doubt he can keep Rondo's ego in check though.

BRAD is a class act...

Now it, very soon, he will have to prove if he can be a CLASS ACT COACH...

I hope so...

How crazy would it be if they made the playoffs and eliminated the nets

August 14, 2013  01:22 PM ET

All of those who abandoned the celtics bandwagon would probably jump back on

So the Mayor of Detroit got a letter. And Blue Edwards (31 games) got a letter. Tom Gugliotta (20 games) got one. Blue Edwards (31 games) too. Frank Brickowski (17 games)? Bimbo Coles (14 games)? Earl Tatum (3 games). Busy man.
