07:07 AM ET 08.14 | Credit Al Harrington for his optimism -- and for drawing up a goal for his new team. Harrington is confident that he can help [John Wall] make the playoffs for the first time in his career -- and also end the Wizards' five-year postseason drought. After a season spent recovering from a staph infection following surgery on his right knee and as a misplaced piece in the Orlando Magic's rebuilding efforts, the 33-year-old Harrington is eager to once again play a significant role on a team that is playing for something. ... "I'm excited and I feel like this team is definitely going to make the playoffs," Harrington said in a telephone interview late Monday night. "And I don't care. I'll go on record saying that. I feel like if this team is healthy, it will be one of the top eight teams in the East, for sure."

X^D *Hahaha* Bless your poor deluded soul.

Still, the same could be said in regards to almost any professional sports team... Except the Wizards and the Bobcats/Hornets (so long as Jordan is running the show).

Personally I enjoy watching Michael Jordan fail at something.

Hmm.....why's that? Because he's beaten your Knicks time and time again during his playing career?

It's just sad when players make predictions. Keep the predictions to yourself and just perform on the floor. All talk and no walk.

Harrington is a good pickup for 15-20mpg off the bench.

August 14, 2013  08:36 AM ET

If he's finally healthy and can play 65 or so games.

Agreed. You will see the Cav's and The Wizards in the play-offs this year - Count that as a given since the Bucks and 76ers won't make it this time.

Is that question for the team or Harrington?

I have them in the top 8.

1. Heat
2. Bulls
3. Pacers
4. Nets
5. Knicks
6. Pistons
7. Cavs
8. Wizards

August 14, 2013  09:19 AM ET

The wizards were chosen by Harrington over OKC?
Clippers?

Given how weak the lower end of the East is, it isn't THAT bold a prediction to make top 8.

I think No.6 is too high for Pistons, and I think Hawks will sneak in top 8.

the hawks do not have a superstar on that team, what hawks as #8 seed???
The wizards have a rising star in Wall, a future all star in Beal and decent front court and a championship experience wing player in Ariza...
The raptors as it stands with them healthy have a better chance at the eighth seed than the hawks.
Rudy G,Derozen,Velenceuis,Amir,Lowry,Ross,Augustine,Novak,Hansborough,Gray,Daye ...
The raps would be the 9th seed at worst.

You don't NEED a super star to be #8 LOL.

Teague, Horford, Milsap, Krover (all playoff experienced), Lou, Schroeder. That's good enough for #8

As far as the Wizards, yeah sure you can brag about potentials and future stars, but until they prove something with wins, I'm not buying them. I want to see Wall play a full season healthy. Beal has been good in stretches, so we'll see.
Same with Raps. Jonas has skills, we'll see if he can convert that into wins.

If "potential" pans out Wiz and Raps will make it, but until then, I'm still sticking with Hawks making it.

even if the hawks make it it's another first round exit anyways.

That'll be true for 8 other teams in the league that make the playoffs. smh.
