A's sticking with scuffling Colon

07:07 AM ET 08.15 | August has been more than unkind to Bartolo Colon, but it appears that won't come back to bite him yet. Despite consecutive nightmarish -- by his standards of late, anyway -- starts, [Colon] remains on track to make his next scheduled start, A's manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday. "There are no changes in the foreseeable future," Melvin said. Meaning Colon should take the hill again Sunday against Cleveland. Colon, 40, has lasted a combined 6 2/3 innings in his last two outings, at Cincinnati and against Houston Tuesday night, while compiling an unsightly ERA of 13.50. ... And we already mentioned the part about him being 40, right? All of which makes you wonder if the A's would do right by Colon, who insists he's not tired, by resting him with a skipped start or two. "Every pitcher goes through struggles," Melvin said.

Why put him out there every five days to watch him get shelled. sit him out for 2 starts. if that don't work, why keep him around. another case where off of steroids and career over.

The A's should consider themselves very fortunate that they have gotten as much out of him this season as they have.

Was anybody else shocked that Senor Colon was not on the list of 13?

I guess he went to someone other than BioGenesis...

Believe they considered his and Melky's punishment and decided the penalty was paid.

He should skip 2 starts, if they burn him out now he won't be around for the playoffs!

Wow. It's almost like he used to take steroids but now he doesn't anymore.
