Ohio State corner has charges reduced

07:24 PM ET 08.16 | The Ohio State Buckeyes are many people's pick to make the National Championship game and face the Alabama Crimson Tide, but that would have a tall order to accomplish had they lost All-American cornerback Bradley Roby, who was arrested this offseason, and it appeared his time with OSU was wearing thin. So it came as a relief to he and his teammates today when news broke that Roby had the charges against him resulting from an altercation at an Indiana bar reduced. Roby's charge were lessened from Class A misdemeanor battery to Class B misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Judge and arresting officer must be OSU fans.. and will have luxury suites for this year's games

In God-forsaken Freakin' Bloomington, home of the University of Indiana Hoosiers? Doubtful that Buckeye Nation has its clout stretching quite that far. Nice try, though.

But of course. NO surprise there. <rolls eyes>

The surprise will be the Urbanator imposing a two-game suspension for BR's boisterous behavior. I'll be doubly surprised (and disappointed) if it doesn't happen.

Saw where Cal will be starting true freshman Jered Goff (6'4", 205) at QB for the Golden Bears. Another Matt Barkley to upset the Buckeye applecart?

Quell Quad. GO BUCKS!

Harley, you shouldn't be surprised if Corch Meyers doesn't suspend Mr. Roby, especially if the competition in said games is tough. I have ample respect for OSU's storied program, but Urban Meyer is, ethically speaking, a total fraud. Win at all costs.

So Buckeyes/Tide...I'll take Bama. Ready fer next season. : )

Buckeyes/Tide. The one with the most the most arrogant fan base wins. (...sigh.... the SEC team wins again).

tOSU is getting way too much respect right now-when we look back in DEC they will have played maybe one team in the top 15..... If SOS ends up being a factor in any kind of tie-breaker tOSU will be screwed.

And a two game suspension would be a weak message.

All Fan bases have those that are arrogant. Maybe you are confusing arrogance with confidence. When a conference has a run of winning National Championship Games like the SEC has it tends to give your fan base a boost of confidence in their programs. When they start losing then that confidence will full off some.

If we go with like punshment for others, for the same offense (i.e LSU JJ, TM, and all the others) It will be 1 maybe 2 game suspention. I would hope that Coaches would be a little more strick with punishments, and discipline issues, but that is not always the case.

The police always over charge in the hope you plea down to the correct charge. No surprise he got a lesser charge. Doesn't matter if he sits 4 games osu doest play anyone till oct. so urban might sit him for a few.

Agree with you 1 or 2 games. This was a fight people and it was one he did not start. No drugs, girls, selling s4it just boyz being boyz.

My Man BB! Long time no see. Welcome back to the boards. I'm looking forward to another exciting and zany CFB season. GO BUCKS!

He tried to start a fight in a bar, got thrown out, tried to come back in and struck a security officer in the chest. What a moron. I guarantee you every player on the team knows the details. If the coach lets him play it won't discourage similar behaviors for the rest of the team.

HiYa, EWO! We'll see. I'd like to see UFM run a tight ship in C-bus. Clear and consistent consequences applied for misconduct. And of course, make the punishment fit the crime. After all the grief he's endured about his days at Florida, I'm guessing Meyer is having to tighten up his act.
