Martellus Bennett unfazed by lack of preseason targets

07:29 PM ET 08.16 | The Chicago Bears signed tight end Martellus Bennett in hopes of getting a player that could help improve the blocking at tight end, along with provide a big pass catching target in the middle of the field. However, while Bennett has looked good on the practice field, he has yet to see a target during his preseason reps. Instead, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has just been honing in on Brandon Marshall. That could be discouraging for Bennett to have a much less significant role in the team's offense earlier than he would have imagined, but he is not worried about having a small role when the regular season comes around. Bennett trusts new head coach Marc Trestman and he took to his Twitter account to let us all know.

He finally got the contract he was looking for last year from the Bears. He could care less now how many times he is thrown to.

Stoopid Aggie came out of college too early. He could have used another year of development.

"Instead, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has just been honing in on Brandon Marshall."

That's "homing in." "Hone": verb: "sharpen - whet - grind - edge"

He's used to not catching a lot of passes.

The larger question is why he gets so much media attention.
