09:20 AM ET 08.17 | Alex Rodriguez vehemently denied yesterday he ratted out Brewers star Ryan Braun and teammate Francisco Cervelli in the Biogenesis scandal. A "60 Minutes" report said members of Rodriguez's inner circle obtained handwritten documents from Biogenesis founder Anthony Bosch and then leaked them in February to Yahoo! Sports, which was the first to report the names of Cervelli as well as Braun. That story ran Feb. 5. Bosch has since become MLB's star witness in its investigation. "It's not true. I spoke to Cervelli this morning, had a positive conversation. He understands that it's not true. We're on the same page," Rodriguez said before the Yankees opened a three-game series against the AL East-leading Red Sox last night at Fenway Park. "When I heard about it four months ago I was very surprised. But the most important thing is that I spoke to Cervelli. Cervelli, he's like my brother. I told him it's not true."

Nothing. And since no one claims the accusation, just call me an " associate " I buy nothing from any of the stuff put out there by somebody or some group. Not from Arod and not from MLB offices and certainly not this....I am glad Arod is fighting back. The only way to ever know even part of the truth of it all.

Excellent point. Will retire for a moment to consider..

Yeah, I'm sure he thinks of Cervelli as his brother. He probably didn't even realize he was a teammate.

A-Rod is as good as his word.

As is Selig.

You have to ask yourself: What would ARod gain by leaking it and why is this allegation coming out now?

August 17, 2013  10:49 AM ET

Yeah this sounds really strange to me. I don't trust anyone involved here. I just don't see any real point to A-Rod providing unredacted papers to the media.

You assume he did. Everybody assumes some of what they hear is true. Not me, I assume it is all lies or twists of parts of truth, same thing, from all parties in this mess....

I believe him. He always tells the truth.

Is The guy or MLB RAT That went to 60 Minutes any more or less Scumier than ARod's and will 60 revel their source or ARod's source? I bet you know the answer to that one, don't you? My money when the dust settles and hSit hits the fan is on JOE TORRE as MLB's RAT! Who else has a bigger ardonH for The Yankees and Arod, who didn't hit in the clutch for him?

August 18, 2013  05:55 AM ET

A-Rod is Sinking ship, that tried to play a game of "chicken" with the iceberg that is the baseball fans of America, and lost. The first time around, it was forgiveable. Now its a race to see who can get further away from this black hole of integrity. He may not have ???ratted??? on his colleagues, but that fact is moot as everyone who gets busted will blame him anyways.

A-Rod can't be saved. He will lose his ticket to the HoF, and an asterisk behind every stat, from his first game to his last. At this point, there is nothing he or anyone else can do to save him. For those players in the HoF, it cost them more than 10-20 years of their life to get inside, but if A-Rod wants to get inside the HoF it???s going to cost him $19.50, or if he brings 19 friends, he can get a group discount for $17.50/person because that is the only way he is getting in.

August 18, 2013  08:11 AM ET

I could see A Rod doing that. It would be called Lets Make a Deal. I give you names and my 211 gets reduced. MLB apparently said no deal. but if A Rod said that he didn't rat out others then he probably didn't. A Rod wouldn't LIE???????????

If this story turns out to be garbage, A-Rod has the chance to bank some serious coin for the lawsuits that will surely follow. CBS could have some serious egg on their face if they didn't vet the info well-enough.

No doubt. Those news agencies are about as trustworthy as Arod is
