09:27 AM ET 08.17 | Iranian center Hamed Haddadi worked out for the Knicks on Friday at the team's training facility, a league source confirmed with ESPNNewYork.com's Ian Begley. "Even though he's 28 years old, he doesn't have a ton of miles on his tires," a source close to the player told ESPNNewYork.com. "He played sparingly in Memphis, sporadically in Phoenix, but there would be games where he would get close to double-digit rebounds. He won't wow you with his athleticism, but he's a high-volume energy guy and has good skills to be a good, solid defensive backup." Three sources have told ESPNNewYork.com this week that the Knicks are eying a big man for their final roster spot heading into training camp. "Haddadi makes sense for what they need," the source close to the player said. "I know they need another big, like a true center."

The US may be has only about 1000 times more nuke capabilities and reactors than ehran.

So what are you going to nick name our players as?

Just another example of it 'paying' to be big. NBA teams give numerous chances to players with little skill only because of their size. If they were just 6 inches shorter they wouldn't even get a tryout for a D-league team.

Instead of big it would be more accurate to say tall.

On a serious note, this will be a decent pickup for the Knicks. He can back up chandler for 10-12 mins and that's probably what Chandler may need.

What a move out of complete desperation........I can't believe that posters make comments like this about a guy who has zero NBA skills.

Sorry bud......but the guy rebounds well, plays pretty good defense and is a fairly good (efficient) scorer considering the minutes he's played.

He'll give the Knicks 12 solid minutes (4 pts/4 rbs) a game.....and that's all they'll need from him.

They make those comments because they apparently know more about basketball than you do.
