10:45 AM ET 08.18 | Freshman Donovahn Jones is making the switch from quarterback to wide receiver for the rest of fall camp, Gophers football coach Jerry Kill said after Saturday's scrimmage. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Jones continued to impress coaches with this athletic ability, but trying to learn two positions is slowing down his development process. "We've got to sell out and get him to learn more things at receiver," Kill said. "Right now his head is swimming because we've got him doing a lot of things." Kill said senior receiver Victor Keise was helping to teach Jones during fall camp. Jones was competing for the No. 3 quarterback job, but freshman Chris Streveler appears to have solidified that role going into the Aug. 29 season opener against Nevada Las Vegas at TCF Bank Stadium.
