10:53 AM ET 08.18 | A deal is in the works that would offer Brian Vickers more seat time in the No. 55 Aaron's Toyota -- and allow Mark Martin to pursue the opportunity to drive the No. 14 for the injured Tony Stewart. On Saturday, multiple sources told FOX Sports that Toyota offered Martin its blessing in order to enable Vickers -- who was named the full-time driver of the No. 55 Michael Waltrip Racing Camry on Tuesday -- additional races to gel with the team. Vickers is currently racing for the Nationwide Series championship with Joe Gibbs Racing. He is fifth in the NNS point standings.

Old and young I heard trading off.

Might be a good move to get Vickers some seat time in the Cup Series.. also Mark is 'rumored' to be in talks with the #42 team to share the ride with Kyle Larson in 2014

I thought Mark was retiring. But then I thought the same about Mikey.

Doesn't want to run 'full-time'.. part time rides are what he's looking at.. even though there aren't many of them in the Cup Series these days

uptil I saw the draft which had said $83.92, I have faith that...my... sister was like they say actually bringing home money parttime at their laptop.. there neighbor has done this for only twenty months and recently repayed the loans on their house and got a great Maserati.

'uptil' I saw this I believed you.. you sure it wasn't your sister's stepson's next door neighbor's aunt??

Mark is a good choice in the 14 -- he has forgot more about driving a car then some of them know ...

From Jayski -- Logano wins Michigan: #22-Joey Logano won the Pure Michigan 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway for his 1st win of 2013 and 3rd career win. It is Logano's first win in 44 races, since Pocono in June 2012. Logano also led the most laps with 52 led of 200.
#29-Harvick finished 2nd followed by #78-Busch, #27-Menard, #15-Bowyer, #9-Ambrose, #5- Kahne, #31-Burton, #16-Biffle & #99-Edwards. Austin Dillon finished 14th in the #14 Chevy. Points leader #48-Johnson, who started from the rear in a backup car, led three laps but lost an engine on lap 54, finishing 40th. Chase drivers #18-Busch & #88-Earnhardt Jr. wrecked, with the #18 finishing 31st and the #88 finishing 36th. There were 20 lead changes among 13 drivers and 9 cautions for 34 yellow flag laps. The average speed was 144.593. NASCAR no longer announces the track attendance.

Jr can't catch a break -- the 88 was the fastest on the track until a punctured right front put him in the wall ...

Congratulations Joey Lagano ...

Maybe. But an increase of several hundred percent over most other Michigan races.

Mark Martin will take over the driving duties of Stewart-Haas Racing's No. 14 Chevrolet as soon as next weekend's Sprint Cup Series race at Bristol, Tenn.

Martin will drive the No. 14 while Tony Stewart continues to recover from two broken bones in his right leg, which he suffered in an accident in a Sprint car race earlier this month. Martin will remain the team's driver the remainder of the 2013 season if necessary, except for the Oct. 20 race at Talladega, Ala., sources said.

If Stewart still needs a replacement driver for the Talladega race, Nationwide Series regular Austin Dillon will likely drive the car in that race, sources said. Dillon served as the team's driver Sunday at Michigan and finished 14th.

An official announcement of the move is expected on Monday.

Plus MM wants to race part time as long as he can....he has no end date .........he brings so much value to any team.

I can see him mentoring Larsen.....but I hate to see MM in the #42.

I know it is just business.....but how can Newman not be offended by this....I really hope Newman gets a good ride and has a rocking 2014.......changes sometimes work out that way.

Mark Martin has still got it and would be an excellent fill in for Smoke, if Marks up to it this is a no brainer for Tony.

Just the facts..

According to the NASCAR post-race stats from MIS, there were 20 lead changes over 400 miles:

* The first lead change was on the opening lap, when Kurt Busch passed pole-sitter and eventual race winner Joey Logano.

* Lead change No. 2 took place on a Lap 6 restart, when Logano re-passed Busch for the top spot.

* Then, on Lap 33, leader Logano was trying to lap Johnny Sauter'????s start-and-park entry when he almost ran into him. Logano had to lift, allowing Busch to go to the front.

* On Lap 78, Busch passed leader Denny Hamlin who had stayed out during a prior caution and was on old tires, making him a sitting duck.

* And, of course, on Lap 197 of the 200-lap race, Mark Martin ran out of gas, handing the victory to Logano.

The other 15 lead changes? Every single one of them occurred because of pit stops. Either the leader pitted and surrendered the lead when he did, or he got passed on pit road during a stop.

At no point during the final 122 laps of the race did the second-place car pass the leader under green when both were on track, running full speed. Whoever was out front could pull away easily, but as soon as they got back in traffic they usually got stuck there.
