RB concerns growing in Houston

07:03 AM ET 08.19 | On the upside, the Texans learned some good news over the weekend about safety Ed Reed, but the same can't be said for running back Arian Foster. [Foster] is still dealing with back soreness and will not return to action Monday, head coach Gary Kubiak said. Foster is receiving injections, has undergone MRIs and will be re-evaluated later this week. ... "We're trying to get through the injection process -- it's causing him some discomfort and it's going to take some time for him to get through it." Kubiak said "he's not there yet," regarding being concerned about Foster missing the regular-season opener Sept. 9 at San Diego. However, Kubiak is beginning to worry about Foster's lack of practice reps and the team's inexperience without him in the backfield.

Ed Reed sure fooled these guys. Good safety, but hardly ever healthy.

That "window" in Houston is closing.

I just heard a window slam shut!!

Ben Tate, also a very good RB, still has not fully returned from injury. Could be a slow start for the Texans this year.

It was that way under Parcells... it was that way under Phillips... it's that way under Garrett.

Hmmm - wonder what the common denominator is here?

Shaub needs a healthy Foster, we've seen him without one and it doesn't work out well.

As for Dallas, the conflict JJ has set up between Callahan and Garrett is going to be problematic.

The way Callahan's offensive line is playing, I don't see much problem. They've stunk.

Opening in Indy. Actually, their window was only closed during the Suck-for-Luck year, when it was Painted shut.

I believe so...

Houston should have capitalized on those lean years in Indy.

The fact they keep trying to pry guys off their couches tell you all you need to know about that o-line.

I thought that maybe the Colts over achieved last year and would take a step back this season but damn they are looking fine...we'll see
